Podium Call For Papers

Podium Papers Submission Information

Deadline: December 10, 2007
Annual Meeting March 6-8, 2008
Scottsdale, AZ

You will be asked to provide the following information on the online Call for Papers Forms. We recommend that you have compiled all the following information prior to going to the forms to submit your proposal.

A. Title of proposal (not to exceed 10 words)

B. Contact person’s name, address, phone, fax, and email. The contact person will receive all correspondence regarding the proposal and is responsible for notifying all authors of the status of the proposal. The contact person is also responsible for serving as the liaison with AAS for the paper.

C. Abstract or proposal (not to exceed 200 words—no graphs or tables). Prepare your abstract carefully. It will be published in the AAS Web Site, the AAS Bulletin, and in the Meeting Program.

D. Indicate the focus of the proposal:

  • Auditory Processes in Children
  • Diagnostic Audiology
  • Speech Perception
  • Medical Issues
  • Hearing Aids: New Technology
  • Hearing Aids: Evaluation and Outcomes
  • Cochlear Implants
  • Hearing Science
  • Audiology/Vestibular Disorders
  • Other—Describe

E. Learner Outcomes. Describe the skills, knowledge and/or attitudes that participants will be able to demonstrate after this session. "Participants will be able to:…"

F. AV Equipment. All rooms will contain the following items:

  • Screen
  • Podium microphone
  • Pointer
  • LCD projector

  • Individuals will be required to bring their own computers (Macintosh or PC Compatible).
  • PowerPoint presentations preferred.
  • The following can be made available, if requested: VHS Player (1/2")
  • All other equipment at the cost of the presenter equipment at the cost of the presenter

G. Brief Biographical Sketch. Please provide a brief biographical sketch for each presenter.

H. Author Information. You will need to enter the name, affiliation, city, and state for each author, as well as indicate if they are an AAS member, nonmember, or student/resident. Reenter information regarding the contact person if that individual is also an author.

I. Evaluation Criteria:

  • Strength of theoretical/scientific or professional rationale supporting the proposal
  • Originality of proposal or research question(s)
  • Strength of research design
  • Credibility of data (or data in progress)
  • Integration of findings
  • Overall clarity of proposal

J. When submitted, you be will directed to a printable confirmation page that summarized your proposal and provides the date and time. PLEASE PRINT AND KEEP A COPY FOR YOUR RECORDS and refer to it in any correspondence with AAS regarding your submission.
